When is it okay to train after, or during, a cold?

[From RCSN Fitness Newsletter]

Question: When is it okay to train after, or during, a cold?

Answer: You should of course ditch training completely if you have a fever, regardless of the intensity of your workout. Joint pain, a high temperature, cough or even stomach related issues are often indications of your body needing to rest. Not to mention more acute and serious complications such as myocarditis, high intensity training can have a real negative impact on your immune system and lead to you getting even sicker.

If you’ve just developed a cold you should focus on resting, for your own and others sake. Avoid getting too close to other people since you are highly likely to pass the infection on to others when you have a fever.
Do not enter the gym and drag other people down with you in the fall!
